MrDG Drop: Add details to participate in the upcoming MrDG Drop
Starting today emails will be going out to our long term ecosystem users to add their Web3 wallet addresses for the upcoming MrDG token Drop. We expect all emails to be sent over the weekend, currently users only need to connect their wallets to the site and then click on the submit button to submit the details. The form is opened till 30th or till majority of the users have submitted the details. If you do not receive the email or miss the timeframe to submit the details dont worry, we will be opening the form again for the next month once initial user’s are added. If you have lost access to your email, we will be working on a way to recover those accounts in the future so that everyone can participate in the new MrDG platform.
Each email contains sensitive data so we request users to not share the emails they recieve. No transactions/approval is to be done currently thus if you are asked to approve any transaction, please recheck the site you are entering your details and do not approve it and make sure you only click on the link on the email.
To explain the process this article will highlight the whole process to submit the details along with this why this is being done as well.
Why do you need to submit your web3 wallet address?
To keep the process as decentralized as possible , we need to know the addresses which will be claiming the MrDG token once the contracts are launched. This is required as unlike normal applications Smart Contracts cannot verify emails, thus we are completing the verification part offchain. Once we have the addresses these addresses will be whitelisted on the contract using a Merkle Hash, which allows us to only allow the legitimate users to claim their balances on the contract. To achieve this securely and in a decentralized manner all addresses that are to be whitelisted in the contract are required to be know so that on the blockchain everything can be verified. Each address can be used only once , and as no transaction is to be done currently (transaction will be required in future) you can use a newly created wallet for this process.
You can use any wallet that supports WalletConnect (like TrustWallet, Guarda and more) or browser based wallets (like Metamask).
How to add details?
Step1: Wait for the email, due to high volume of users it can take 1–2 days for all emails to be delivered to all the users. Once email is received it would look like this:
Step2: Click on the Submit Details button, it will redirect you to our MrDG site:
Step3: Click on Connect Wallet to connect to your wallet
If you have Metamask or any other browser based wallet installed it will show up in the screen, else the popup will show the “Wallet Connect” QR code as below, Wallet connect can be used with most popular Mobile wallets like Trust Wallet:
You can then scan this QR code with your mobile app.
If you use or select browser based wallet like Metamask , the screen will popup and ask for confirmation to connect the wallet (There is no need for transaction or approval currently so the site will never ask you to approve or send any transaction).
Step4: Once the wallet is connected , all details should show up on the screen for you, if you have any issues with the details provided here please reply over the email you received for the Drop and our team will look into it.
Step5: Verify the details and click Submit
Step6: Wait for the details to submit, once submitted you are all done
What to do next?
Once you have submitted the details , there is nothing else left to do currently. We plan to launch the platform as soon as possible but we dont expect to launch before 30th October 2022, as to give majority of the users sufficient time to submit their details. Once launched we will be back with another article to provide all the details and tutorials for the users to move ahead and interact with the protocol.
